Roofing Dumpster Rental in San Antonio and Austin

Roll-off containers sized so your tear-off finishes on one haul, delivered to San Antonio, Austin, and Hill Country roofing crews.

Roofing dumpster rental in San Antonio and Austin comes down to one decision: will everything coming off that roof fit in one container. South Texas Dumpsters runs 20, 30, and 40 yard roll-offs, delivered to the drop zone, swapped mid-job when a tear-off outgrows one container, and hauled by a licensed operator.

Our smallest container is a 20 yard, which is the size most tear-offs need anyway. Call 210-372-8666 and we'll size it against your square count and layer count.

The second haul is what costs you the dry-in window

The container fills at two in the afternoon. Your crew stops, debris goes on the drive, and you wait on a truck. If the swap arrives the next morning you've lost a day of labor and left the deck open overnight against a dry-in deadline.

That's a volume problem, not a weight problem. On an ordinary asphalt re-roof the container fills long before the load gets heavy. It's why the 10 and 15 yard roofing boxes advertised elsewhere cause trouble: they fill before a standard tear-off is finished, and a second layer close to doubles what comes off.

South Texas Dumpsters doesn't offer a 10 or a 15 yard. The 20 yard is our floor.

The jobs this covers

Residential tear-offs and re-roofs

Works across Bexar, Travis, and Comal counties, from a standard three-bed strip to a large custom home out past Boerne.

Storm damage and insurance work

You can't see the deck until the shingles are off, so the volume is a guess until tear-off morning, and the schedule belongs to an adjuster instead of to you. These are the jobs most likely to need a swap.

Multi-layer strip-offs

Strip-offs on older San Antonio and Austin housing stock, where a second or third layer went on over the original instead of replacing it. Debris volume on those runs well past what the roof area suggests, and the size usually moves up.

Commercial low-slope and re-cover work

Recover work on retail, office, and light industrial buildings, including modified bitumen and single-ply. The insulation board comes off with the membrane and fills a container fast.

Decking and sheathing replacement

Carried out alongside the tear-off. Rotted or water-soaked decking is denser than shingle debris, which makes this the one roofing job where weight can bind before volume does.

What we provide

All three sizes are 22 feet long, so the footprint on a drive is the same whichever you take. What changes is wall height, and on a roofing job that decides how hard the loading is.

The 20 yard stands four feet tall, low enough to pitch shingles over the side from ladder height or run a chute straight in. The 30 yard is six feet and the 40 yard is eight: more capacity, harder throw.

20-Cubic Yard Dumpsters
Single-layer tear-offs. Lowest walls, easiest throw from the ladder.
30yd tx dumpsters
30-Cubic Yard Dumpsters
Standard residential and small commercial re-roofs. Our most common roofing pick.
40yd tx dumpsters
40-Cubic Yard Dumpsters
Commercial tear-offs and low-slope re-cover work.

Full specifications for each size sit on the 20 yard, 30 yard, and 40 yard pages.

How it works on a tear-off

Tell us the roof

Square count, layer count, shingle type, and whether decking is coming off. We'll name the size, and if you're between two we'll say which way to lean.

Give us the tear-off date and the drop zone

Driveway, side yard, or street all work. Street placement may need a municipal permit depending on the city.

We deliver ahead of the crew

Same-day and next-day delivery is often available depending on routing. Book a business day ahead to hold a specific morning.

Fill it

Loose-loaded shingles settle. A container that looks full mid-morning often takes more after lunch.

Call for a swap before it's full

We pick up the full container, haul it for disposal, and set an empty one in the same spot. The replacement is a separate rental. If you know at quote time that the job runs past one container, we'll schedule the swap in advance.

We haul and dispose of it

You don't manage the disposal end.

Sizing for this work

Most roofing jobs are a volume decision. Square count and layer count set the size.

Single-layer tear-off on a modest roof

20-yard. Our smallest size, so the decision never goes below it.
20-Yard

Standard residential and small commercial re-roofs

30-yard. The most common roofing pick across our service area.
30-Yard

Commercial tear-offs

40-yard. Large commercial tear-offs and re-cover work.
40-Yard

When weight matters instead: Tile and slate, premium designer shingle in a large container, and loads carrying water-soaked decking or heavy flashing and metal. Every roll-off on Texas roads is capped at 10 tons of payload whatever the size of the container, and a standard asphalt tear-off fills the container long before that.

What can and cannot go in

Roofing debris is standard non-hazardous construction and demolition material. This list covers what actually turns up on a tear-off.

Goes in the containerKeep it out
Asphalt shingles, three-tab and architecturalAny hazardous material, including solvents and chemical products
Underlayment, felt, and syntheticSealed containers of roofing adhesive or coating that have not been emptied
Decking, sheathing, and rotted lumberAsbestos-containing material of any kind, including older built-up roofing
Flashing, drip edge, vents, and metal trimLiquid waste of any kind
Nails, fasteners, and small metal debrisPropane tanks and pressurised cylinders
Tile, slate, and concrete roofing materialBatteries, fuels, and equipment fluids

Modified bitumen, single-ply membrane, and insulation board

Tires

Everything on the left is non-hazardous. Older built-up commercial roofing is the usual source of doubt. If you suspect asbestos, stop and call before anything goes in the container: it needs a licensed abatement contractor and a separate disposal path.

Why choose South Texas Dumpsters

Our smallest container is a 20 yard

That's the size most tear-offs need, so the decision starts where it should instead of below it.

We size from your square count and layer count

Call with both and we'll name the container and say whether the job needs a swap. Two minutes.

Swaps get scheduled at quote time

If the job runs past one container and we know in advance, the second one is booked before tear-off morning.

Local dispatch

South Texas Dumpsters has served San Antonio, Austin, and the surrounding communities for over a decade. The person routing your container knows the 1604 traffic pattern and which Hill Country driveways a truck can't turn in.

EPA ID TXR000083663

Credentialed on the disposal end, which is what keeps the property owner clear of where the load goes after it leaves the site.

Where we serve

South Texas Dumpsters delivers roofing containers across San Antonio and Bexar County, Austin and Travis County, and the Hill Country and surrounding South and Central Texas communities.

San Antonio is the home market and the shortest routing we run. Austin runs its own delivery schedule, so confirm lead times there rather than assuming San Antonio timing. Hill Country properties often have narrow drives or long private approaches, so tell us about site access when you order.

Working a build rather than a re-roof? Our construction dumpster rental page covers phased container scheduling across a full project.

FAQ

Not on a standard asphalt job. Volume fills the container well before the 10-ton legal payload cap applies, so square count and layer count decide the size. Weight matters on tile, slate, premium designer shingle, and loads carrying water-soaked decking. Our sizing guide has the per-square figures.

Four things: container size, how long it stays on site, what goes in it, and the delivery location. We quote per job rather than from a rate card. Call 210-372-8666 with your square count and your dates for a number on your actual project.

Same-day and next-day delivery is often available in the core service area, depending on routing. Book at least one business day ahead to hold a specific morning. Call 210-372-8666 for current lead times, and give us the tear-off date rather than the delivery date.

Yes. We deliver across Austin and Travis County and throughout the Hill Country, including Boerne, New Braunfels, San Marcos, and Seguin. Austin runs its own delivery schedule, so confirm lead time for your date. Tell us about site access on properties with narrow or long approaches.

The 20 yard, and it's our smallest container in any service. It measures 22 feet long by 8 wide by 4 high. The low walls make it the easiest of the three to load from ladder height or with a chute.

Usually you size up or plan a swap. A second layer close to doubles the volume per square, so a job that fits one container single-layer often won't double-layer. Tell us the layer count when you call and we'll settle it before delivery.

No. Shingles, underlayment, decking, flashing, and roofing metal are standard non-hazardous construction and demolition debris. The exception is asbestos, common in older built-up commercial roofing, which cannot go in a roll-off and needs a licensed abatement contractor.
